I have just returned from my second wonderful stay at Ubud Art Villa aka Paradise. Bruce & Wayan and their wonderful house team of Bloos, Kade, Ketut and S... were superb hosts. The house is a haven and meeting place for travellers from all over. I have been coming to Bali for 34 years and of course have seen amazing changes. Ubud remains my favourite place and I will continue to return as often as I can. May I suggest that you book well ahead as the Art Villa is becoming the place to stay for the creatives of the world. It's just like coming home each time. Thank you Wayan for showing Jeff the best of Bali for his first visit. Cheers and a big hug Bronwyn.

We had a fantastic 5 day stay at the villa! The design and build of the compound is impeccable and speaks more than words of the love and attention to detail that Bruce and team poured into this little island of tranquility. The rooms and the compound are kept meticulously clean. Staff is highly attentive and friendly (read: family atmosphere). Breakfast menu gives multiple options of between alternating local dishes, egg dishes, fresh fruits, etc. Thanks so much to the entire team for the lovely stay!

I had the honour and will be forever grateful to have facilitated the first Yoga Retreat at this special villa which Bruce (The Owner) and Wayan (The Manager) have created. The accommodation is an artist’s villa filled with beauty, love and creativity. The villa supports peace, stillness and beauty and is ideal for individuals or small groups. The staff look after your every need and you really feel as if you are 'home'during your stay. The attention to detail is impressive and it takes time to notice all the artistic touches. Each room is different with its own special features. The pool is divine and perfect for some laps or simply lazing in or around. Privacy abounds but what I love is the friendly communal feel to the space. Makan Pagi (breakfast) is lovingly prepared, everything so fresh with generous servings. Wayan ensures that you have all the information and support you need for your visit. Nothing is too much trouble. a beautiful place that I happily bring my family and my Yoga students to. A perfect place to base yourself in Ubud, it is my favourite place to be in ubud. Thankyou Bruce and Wayan for creating such a place. Nicole :)

Bruce (an Australian professor of art) and his local partner Wayan (a charming Balinese visitor specialist) have cooperated to provide an amazing home for visitors, that was a highlight of our little group's visit to Bali. We actually rushed home from the day's activities each day we were in Ubud to swim in the infinity pool, with its views of the rice fields nearby and Mt. Agung in the distance, and surrounded by a fern-covered lava rock wall with cascading water, plumeria trees, and lemon grass. Both Bruce (the host) and Wayan (his operations manager) are delightful: knowledgeable, personable, and helpful, and the rest of the staff do their best to make your stay memorable. We hope to return to Bali one day, and if we do, will definitely try to stay here again! A word of warning for visitors to anywhere in Bali: do take precautions against mosquitoes, especially if you (like I) are usually the first to be bitten in a crowd!

Staying at Ubud Art Villa was the highlight of our recent trip to Bali in December 2012. Bruce and Wayan were warm and generous hosts who have created a relaxing, beautiful and unique space. Compared to the many other places we have stayed (we have travelled extensively), they made an extra effort to ensure our stay was comfortable, and to get to know us, but not at all in an intrusive way. The other staff were friendly and helpful too. One of the the things we particularly liked about the villa was the thoughtful design of space and the amazing aesthetic, including Bruce's lovely ceramic pieces. The villa is in a great spot as it is away from the increasing busy-ness of the town centre, but close enough to access it easily by walking/bike/scooter. Make sure you wander the car and bike-free pathways in behind the villa, which wind through rice fields, hidden cafes, and a great yoga studio. If you are seeking a place that is relaxing, refined, and with a special atmosphere, we could not recommend it highly enough.

We could not have asked for more from our stay at the ArtVilla. The villa itself is the stuff dreams are made of. It is a zen, magnificent spot located on an elevated piece of land that's awash with tropical trees and flowers. As for Bruce and Wayan, we felt very lucky to have two such caring hosts who enabled and assisted with any request. I cannot recommend a visit here more. You'll love it.
